An interruption to your computer’s power supply while you are working with your company file can result in damage to your file.
If you experience an interruption, we recommend that you run the Optimization Assistant. The Optimization Assistant is designed to make your company file more efficient and is capable of fixing certain types of company file corruption. You can use the Optimization Assistant as frequently as required. For example, you can use it after you have completed end-of-month reports or after each working day.
To optimize your company file, click Company File Maintenance from the welcome window and choose Optimize Company File.
If you optimize your company file without errors, we recommend that you also verify your company file.
To verify your company file, go to the File menu and choose Verify Company File. For more information about optimizing and verifying your company file, see Servicing your company file.
We recommend that you back up your company file regularly and store your backup in a safe place, other than your computer or office.
To restore your company file from a backup, click Company File Maintenance from the welcome window and choose Restore from a disk.
If you continue to receive an error message after you have optimized and verified your company file, search our Knowledge Base for the error you are receiving.
