Advanced Filters window—Create Personalized Letters

The Advanced Filters window is where you can specify additional sorting criteria for selecting the cards you want to create personalized letters for.

If you’ve installed OfficeLink and you’re using a compatible version of Microsoft Word, the letters will appear automatically in your word processing program, where you can edit them before printing.

If you haven’t installed OfficeLink or you don’t have an OfficeLink-compatible word processing program, you can create a mail-merge file that can be used with most word processing software to create personalized letters. See Review Cards Before Exporting window.

Field Descriptions

Card Type

Select a type of card: Customer, Vendor, Employee, Personal or All.

All Cards/Selected Card

The name of this field is determined by the selection made in the Card Type field.

All. Select this option to create letters for all cards of the card type you selected in the Card Type field.

■

Selected. Select this option if you want to create a letter for a single card. Type or select the card in the adjacent field.

Identifiers

Enter as many as 10 identifiers to restrict the list of cards you want to display in the list.

Note that only the cards that have been assigned all the identifiers you specify will be included.

Last Reminded Before

Limit your search to cards that have reminder log entries that were recorded prior to the specified date.

Remind On/Before

Limit your search to cards that have a reminder date that occurs on or before the specified date.

Postal Code

Enter Postal codes in these fields to limit your search to a specific Postal code range.

Custom List # 1, # 2, # 3

Select an entry from any or all three of the custom lists to restrict the list of cards to the people and companies who have been assigned that entry.

Note that these fields do not appear if you selected All Cards in the Search By field.

Cancel

Click close the window without saving.

OK

Click to accept the entries you’ve made in this window. The Review Cards Before Exporting window will reappear, and you can verify the list of cards for which letters will be printed.
