Confirm Exchange Account Opening Balance window

The Exchange Account tracks changes in the currency value of a foreign account. When entering the opening balance for a foreign currency, the Confirm Exchange Account Opening Balance window allows you to confirm that the amount calculated is the actual opening balance for the foreign account’s linked exchange account.

There are no entries to be made in this window; it is all view-only information. If you choose to calculate the amount on your own, click Cancel. Otherwise, click OK.

This window is not available unless you have:

■	Selected the I Deal in Multiple Currencies option in the System view of the Preferences window.

■	Created a foreign currency account with a linked exchange account to track changes in currency value.

Field Descriptions

Foreign Account

Displays the account number and account name of the foreign account.

Opening Balance

Displays the opening balance of the foreign account.

Currency

Displays the currency of the foreign account.

Current Exchange Rate

Displays the current exchange rate of the foreign account.

Linked Exchange Account

Displays the account name and the account number of the linked exchange account.

Opening Balance

Displays the calculated opening balance of the linked exchange account.

Currency

Displays the currency of the linked exchange account—the home currency.

OK

Click OK to accept the opening balance; the opening balance will be entered for the exchange account.

Cancel

Click Cancel to close the window; no opening balance will be entered for the exchange account.
