Exchange Rate window

If you are creating a transaction for a customer or vendor in a foreign currency, you can change the currency exchange rate used in a transaction.

The entries you make in the Exchange Rate window will affect only the transaction that you are currently entering. If you want to change the exchange rate for all future transactions that use this currency, select the Update Current Exchange Rate in the Currency List with Transaction Exchange Rate option.

Field Descriptions

Currency

Select the originating currency for this transaction from the list.

If you are entering sales or purchases transactions using the Sales, Purchases, Historical Sale or Historical Purchase window, the currency assigned to the customer or vendor cannot be changed in this window.

Transaction Exchange Rate

If you want to enter a different exchange rate for this transaction, enter it in this field.

Current Exchange Rate

This field displays the current exchange rate.

Update Current Exchange Rate in the Currency List with Transaction Exchange Rate

Select this option if you want the rate you enter in the Transaction Exchange Rate field to be used for future transactions in this currency. The transaction exchange rate will then become the current exchange rate for all future transactions in this currency.

[Foreign Currency] 1 equals

Based on the current exchange rate, one unit of the foreign currency is worth the displayed value in local currency.

(Local) $1.00 Equals

Based on the current exchange rate, one unit of local currency is worth the displayed value in the foreign currency.
