The Payable Accounts view of the Currency Information window enables you to select the linked accounts you want to use when recording purchase-related transactions in the selected currency.
This window is available only if you have selected the I Deal in Multiple Currencies option in the System view of the Preferences window.
If you want to track the cost of items you receive, but for which you don’t receive a bill until a later date, select this option and then select the account you want to use to track the cost in the
Liability Account for Item Receipts field.
If your vendors give you discounts for early payments on purchases made in the selected currency, select this option and then select the account that you want to use to track the discounts you receive in the
Expense or (Contra) Account for Discounts field.
If you are charged late payment fees for payments made later than your vendors’ credit terms allow, select this option and then select the account that you want to use to track finance charges you pay in the
Expense Account for Late Charges field.
