This window enables you to create, edit and delete wage categories. Note that you can delete all wages except the Base Salary and Base Hourly wages.
■ Hourly—Select this option if you want this wage to be calculated on a per hour basis.
■ Salary—Select this option if this wage is for a fixed amount per pay period, month or year.Select the pay rate. These fields only appear if you select Hourly as the type of wages.
■ Regular Hourly Rate Multiplied by Enter the amount by which you want to multiply this wage rate by the regular hourly base rate. For example, if you pay time-and-a-half for overtime, enter 1.5 in this field.
■ Fixed Hourly Rate of Enter a fixed hourly rate for this wage in this field.Optional Account/Override Expense AccountIf you want to track this wage category using an account other than your linked Default Wages Expense Account, select this option and enter the account in the adjacent field.Select this option if you want non-cash wages such as tips excluded from the calculated Net Pay. If you choose to exclude some non-cash wages, select one of the following:Automatically Adjust Base Hourly or Base Salary DetailsIf you want to automatically reduce the Base Hourly and Base Salary amounts on an employee’s pay by the amounts you allocate to this wage category, select this option. For example, if you select this option, and allocate 8 hours to this category, the number of hours allocated to the Base Hourly category will automatically reduce by 8.Click to open the Linked Employees window, where you can select which employees will have this wage included in their pay.Click to open the Wages Exemptions window, where you can select the taxes and deductions from which this wage is exempt.
