Tax Code Information window—Sales Tax Type view
This view of the Tax Code Information window enables you to set up tax codes for retail sales taxes.
Field Descriptions
Tax Code
Type a code (up to three characters) for the tax.
Description
Type a description of the tax.
Tax Type
If you are creating a code for a sales tax, select Sales Tax from the list.
Rate
Type the percentage of tax.
Linked Account for Tax Collected
Type or select the account you want to use to track the tax that is collected. This account typically is a liability account.
Linked Card for Tax Authority
If you have set up a vendor card for the tax authority for whom this tax is collected, type or select the card in this field.
New
If you want to save the changes you have made in this window, and create a new tax code, click New.
OK
If you want to save the changes you have made in this window, and to close the window, click OK.
