Location Information window

The Location Information window is where you can create and edit inventory locations, for example, if you store items at several warehouses. If all your inventory is managed from one location, you do not need to use this feature.

Note that if you store items at a location, but you do not ship orders from it—for example, you may have a warehouse for storing excess inventory—you can select the Items cannot be sold or shipped from this location option. When you select this option, the location won’t be available when you enter a sale.

Field Descriptions

Location ID

Enter a Location ID of up to 10 alphanumeric characters.

Note that a default location already exists in your software. You cannot delete this location, but you can rename it.

Inactive Location

Select this option if you do not want this location to be available for sales or purchases. For example, if you have a warehouse for storing spare parts, and you do not accept delivery of items to or sell directly from this location.

Name

Enter the name you want to use to identify the location.

Address details

Enter the address, city, province, postal code and country of the location.

Contact details

Enter the contact person and phone number of the location.

Notes

Enter any notes regarding the location. You can enter up to 256 alphanumeric characters.

Items cannot be sold or shipped from this location

Select this option if you don’t use this location to sell or ship items from.

New

Click to create a new location.

OK

Click to save your changes and close the window.
