Tax Table Information window

The Tax Table Information window enables you to view the date of your tax table revision and the structure of each of your payroll taxes. The tax table date and tax structures are for viewing only.

You can also use this window to change the linked payables account assigned to a specific payroll tax for all employee pays.

Field Descriptions

Linked Payables Account

All payroll taxes are automatically linked to the account you’ve entered in the Payroll Linked Accounts window. If you wish to use another account for this particular tax, enter the account you want to use.

Tax Table Revision Date

This is view-only information.

AccountEdge tax tables are current at the time we publish the software.

Select Check for Product Updates from the AccountEdge menu for information about tax updates.

Flat Tax

If you wish to assign a tax method to an employee, use the Payroll Details view - Personal Details of the Card Information window.

Tax Table

Each row in the table indicates a range with a minimum and maximum amount, the rate, plus additional calculations.

Wages Over column

Taxes are calculated on wages above the amount in this column. The name of the column differs based on the tax method chosen.

Not to Exceed column

Taxes are calculated on wages below the amount in this column.

= Base Tax column

The base tax applies to all salaries within the range identified in the previous two columns.

+ Percent column

In addition to the Base Tax is this percent of the difference between the employee’s wages and the amount in the next column.

Of Wages Over column

The difference between the salary and this amount is liable to the additional percent tax in the previous column.

Standard Allowance

The standard allowance appears here. It is presented in two ways: the amount for each exemption and the fixed dollar amount.
