Company file activation is a quick and easy procedure that protects your software license against misuse through a seamless notification process in which your ownership information is verified from time to time.No, you'll register your product first. If your product has not been registered prior to activating your company file, the activation process will include product registration.You can choose to activate your company files online or via the MYOB automated telephone process when prompted by your MYOB software. In both cases the activation process should take less than a minute.The online activation procedure only confirms your serial number and confirmation code through the process. Your company file and contact information remain secure.Read Only mode allows you to access the file and view all data, print reports and export data, however you cannot add new data or make changes.How many company files may I activate?You may activate up to ten company files through the online or telephone process. Should you wish to create more than ten company files, please call our Customer Service team at 800-322-MYOB (6962) Monday through Friday 9 am - 8 pm ET.The activation process is required once for each new company file you create. However, you may also be prompted to confirm company file activation from time to time throughout a year. Follow the instructions provided.Your product serial number is located on your registration card and on the back of your MYOB product CD sleeve.When you purchase a full version of MYOB software, you receive a serial number. If you have an Internet connection, you can purchase your MYOB software and receive a serial number online.If you received your confirmation code by phone, you need to record it so you can enter it into your MYOB software. You can confirm the company file using the same online or phone process used when activating the file.If you haven't had a chance to confirm within the time period allowed, the company file will revert to read-only status. This means you can still view your business information, print reports and export data, but you won't be able to enter new transactions or make changes.If you want to continue entering transactions in the company file, simply confirm the file online or via the automated phone system.What if I don’t have internet or phone access to confirm the file and I receive a message saying that I have “0 days left to confirm”?You will need to confirm the file in order to gain full access. You will be able to open the file in Read Only mode until you can use a phone or the internet to confirm the files.
