Changing, deleting, reversing and converting sales


In MYOB FirstEdge, sales can be easily changed, deleted or reversed. You can change or delete quotes at any time. The grouping of line items on a sale can be changed by inserting a line, deleting a line, inserting a header line or inserting a subtotal line.

The ability to change, delete or reverse an invoice depends on the way you set up FirstEdge. It's important to consider whether the sale in question is changeable or unchangeable.

If your sale is changeable, you can change it or delete it altogether from your ledger. Keep in mind, if you activated the Use Audit Trail Tracking preference, all deleted transactions are recorded. (Changes and entries recorded by Audit Trail Tracking)

Unchangeable transactions work differently. If you reverse an unchangeable sale, the effects of the original sale will no longer be part of your ledger; however, a record of the reversed sale, called a reversing transaction, will remain. Then, if you want, you can enter a new, correct transaction to replace the transaction you reversed. (Choosing changeable or unchangeable transactions)

When you delete a recurring transaction, it is removed from your list of recurring transactions only. Any transactions already recorded using a recurring transaction you delete won't be affected.

Changing the status of a sale

You can change the status of a sale. If you enter a quote into FirstEdge, you can easily convert it to an invoice once your customer is ready to buy your product or service. A quote can be changed into an invoice.
