Choosing the purchase you want

The Purchases window allows you to create transaction records for the items and services you buy. The window has four layouts. You'll choose a layout that bests suits the type of transaction you want to enter -- item purchase, service purchase, professional purchase or miscellaneous purchase.

If you like, you can choose a layout for your vendor's preferred purchase form using the Card File. When you enter a vendor's name in the Purchases window, the default layout you designated on the vendor's card will appear automatically. You can change this layout if you wish. (Buying Details view - Card Information window)

You'll then select a status (Bill, Quote, Order, or Receive Items) for your transaction using the drop-down list that appears in the top left of the window.

Note:  Item purchases have a fourth status: Receive Item
