Please note that this task requires single-user access. See Single-user file locking for more information.
Note: You can use other programs to restore backups
If you want, you can use other software programs, such as STUFFIT DELUXE, to decompress a backup instead of the Restore command. Many other popular decompression programs will restore your backup files, as well.
An MYOB software company file should be open.
Note: If the restore process doesn't work
When you installed MYOB AccountEdge, special software used for the backup process was also installed. If an alert message appears when you try to use the Restore command, this software may have been removed from the location where it needs to exist. You'll need to reinstall AccountEdge.
Note: If you also backed up your templates
If you backed up your templates along with your company file during the backup process, your restored templates will be located in a folder named Temp Restore. You'll find this folder in the same location in which you chose to restore your company file.
In order to use the restored templates, you must remove the restored templates from the Temp Restore folder.
To do this, open the Temp Restore folder. In the folder you’ll find the templates folders that were included in the backup -- Forms folder/custom forms, Custom folder/custom reports, Spredsht folder/spreadsheets, Letters folder/letter templates and Graphics folder/graphics (if applicable). Choose how you want to use the restored templates:
1. Move the folders to same location as your restored company file. If you need help moving folders, refer to the documentation that came with your Macintosh computer.
2. Copy or move the files in each folder to another folder of the same name. For example, if you wish to add the custom forms you restored to the custom forms you’re currently using, copy the custom forms from the restored Custom folder to the Custom folder that you’re currently using. If you need help copying or moving files, refer to the documentation that came with your Macintosh computer.
