Paying your employees > Preparing and filing payroll tax forms > Additional information about completing year-end tax forms
To protect against data loss, print copies of relevant reports and forms, and back up your company file before closing the payroll year. Once a payroll year is closed, detailed payroll information is no longer available for that year and year-end payroll tax forms and other reports can’t be reprinted.
The End of Year Tax Forms Assistant requires that you prepare and e-file form P35 as you prepare and e-file form P14. This also applies to amended returns. If you wish to file form P35 separately, you must prepare all your forms manually and submit them by post.
The current version of your software doesn’t support electronic preparation or filing of form P38A. If you are required to file this form, complete it manually using information from the P11 PAYE report and P11 NIC report.
If you have questions about preparing or filing payroll tax forms, consult your accountant or tax advisor. You can also find detailed information about completing all employer tax forms at the HM Revenue & Customs website.
