Importing tips

Nothing appears in the Import Fields column of the Import Data window

■	Check that you have selected the correct file format (comma or tab separated).

■	Check that you have selected the correct type of record to import.

Some data was not imported

■	Check that you selected all the required import fields.

■	Check that you selected the correct method of identifying imported records.

■	Check the import data log file for an explanation of why some records may have been skipped. The log file is automatically saved to your MYOB software installation folder as a .txt file. The file is called MYOBLOG.txt.

The log file displays a numeric error or warning code for each imported record. At the bottom of the log file, there is a list of all errors and warnings issued and their meanings.

The spreadsheet (or database) doesn’t save files in tab- or comma-separated formats

Open your spreadsheet or database in a text editor (such as Notepad) or any other program that allows you to save the data in a tab-separated or comma-separated file. Then import the file into your company file.
