Building items


 

In MYOB Premier Accounting, building items is the process of changing the quantity and total value of one or more items (known as components), and assigning that change of the quantity and total value to at least one other item (known as a finished item). You can also change the quantity and total value of one or more finished items and assign the change of the quantity and total value to other finished items. You can use the Build Items feature to make these changes. The transaction created when you build items is referred to as a build transaction.

Building items is useful for manufacturing businesses. For example, in a woodworking business, you could turn components like lumber and tacks into finished items like furniture by building items.

Building items is made even simpler if you choose to automatically build finished items using Premier Accounting's auto-build feature.
