Moving inventoried items between locations

 

You'll move inventoried items using the Move Items window. You can access the Move Items window in two ways:

To move inventoried items, simply increase and decrease the quantities in the columns in the window. That is, enter positive quantities in the location columns that, when totaled, equal the amount in the On Hand column.

If a non-zero amount shows in the Out of Balance column, you must adjust the quantities in the locations until there is no out-of-balance amount.

When you're finished, you'll click the Move Items button. The items will be assigned to their new locations. To view the item movements you've made, use the Item Movement report.

The Move Items window has two scroll bars

Use the scroll bar at the bottom of the location columns to scroll through your locations, if you have more than four locations.

Use the scroll bar on the right of the Out of Balance column to scroll through your inventoried items.

Notes:
One location is entered automatically for you

The multiple locations feature becomes available only after you've added a second location
