You must print Forms W-2 and W-3, and 1099 and 1096, before closing a payroll year

It is very important to print copies of Forms W-2 and W-3, and 1099 and 1096, AccountEdge before filing these documents and closing the payroll year. Even if you eFile your payroll tax forms, you must retain printed copies for your records.

Once a payroll year is closed, detailed payroll information is no longer available, so Forms W-2, W-3, 1099 and 1096, and other reports and forms, can no longer be printed for that year. If you've made a backup, however, you can restore that backup and print the necessary documents if necessary.
