Use the "tool tips" when you use the toolbar

Text explaining each button on the toolbar in the Customize window is available using tool tips. To access the tool tips, move your mouse over the toolbar and pause on a button; text explaining the button will appear.

If no text appears, the button isn't available. For example, no text will appear for the Undo button until you've made a move that can be undone.
