You now can track bank deposits using AccountEdge

You probably accept various methods of payment for your goods and services, including credit cards, checks, and cash. AccountEdge makes it easy to group your receipts the way you want for deposit in your bank. A new window, Prepare Bank Deposit, has been added to the Checkbook Command Center for this purpose, and a new linked account is used to track undeposited funds.

When you enter customer payments in the Sales window, the Customer Payments window or the Receive Money window you can indicate that the funds are undeposited, along with the payment method that was used. Until you include these amounts on a deposit, they will remain in your Undeposited Funds account.

In the Prepare Bank Deposit window, you can consolidate receipts for deposit according to payment method, such as specific credit cards, making your AccountEdge deposits exactly match your actual bank deposits and coincide with your credit card statements.

The Prepare Bank Deposit window displays the receipts you’ve placed in the Undeposited Funds account. You can choose to view all the receipts or only those paid for by a certain payment method, such as a particular credit card, checks or cash. Simply click in the Deposit column to place an X next to the funds you wish to deposit into the account you specified in the top left corner of the window.

(Although you can’t print a deposit slip using AccountEdge, your bank may allow you to print the Bank Deposit report and attach it to your deposit slip. To print this report, choose Index to Reports from the Reports menu, click the Checkbook tab, then choose Bank Deposit and click Print.)
