Mac OS X Users: Readme

The information contained here only applies to users running Mac OS X.
This information does not apply to users running Mac OS 8.6 or 9.x.

If you are running the Classic Version of MYOB AccountEdge in Mac OS X Classic you should be aware of the following information:

Networking - Classic environment Mac OS X
Because Mac OS X does not support AccountEdge's file sharing, it is recommended that users who are running the Classic version of AccountEdge on Mac OS X operate in single user mode.

  Faxing
At the time of this release, Mac OS X did not have support for faxing. The ability to fax sales and purchases will NOT be available for this release.

If you are running MYOB AccountEdge OS X (Carbon) version on Mac OS X you should be aware of the following information:

  Faxing
At the time of this release, Mac OS X did not have support for faxing. The ability to fax sales and purchases will NOT be available for this release. If you attempt to fax, you will receive a message stating, “Unable to locate FaxPrint print driver that is part of FaxSTF fax software. Please make sure that it is installed in your extensions folder.”

  Email Behavior
In Mac OS X, the default email program will be set to Mail V1.0 unless changed by the user. When running email from AcountEdge OS X Version, when Mail is the default email program, you must be connected to your ISP in order to send mail. If you are not connected to your ISP, no email is sent and no error message is received.
If you are running AccountEdge OS X in Mac OS X environment and your default email program is not a Mac OS X version, for example Outlook Express 5, when you email from AccountEdge, both the Classic environment and the email program will be launched. The email will be placed in the mail program's outbox.

  Networking - Mac OS X
At the time of this AccountEdge release, Mac OS X did not support AccountEdge's file sharing. Therefore, this version of AcccoutEdge is single user and cannot be networked. It is strongly advised that the data file exist on the system where the program exists and is in a location that is secure and not shared by other users on your network.

  OfficeLink
There is no native Mac OS X version of Microsoft Office. Therefore, when you use an OfficeLink feature, AccountEdge will attempt to launch Word or Excel in Classic (both 2001 and 98 are supported). If Classic is not running, AccountEdge will launch Classic and then launch the appropriate application. In some instances users have experienced time outs when attempting to launch the Classic environment. If this occurs it's recommended that you start the Classic environment prior to selecting an OfficeLink function.
