Wages Information window

Wages Name

The name of the wage you're viewing appears in this field. Enter a unique name if you're creating a new wage.

You can change information for any wage, and you can delete all wages except the Base Salary and Base Hourly wages.

Type of Wages: Hourly

Choose this selection if this wage will be used to calculate income on an hourly basis.

Type of Wages: Salary

Choose this selection if this wage will be used to calculate employee income on a fixed amount per pay period, month or year.

Pay Rate: Regular Rate Multiplied by

Enter the amount by which you want to multiply this wage rate by the regular hourly base rate. For example, if you pay “time-and-a-half” for overtime, enter 1.5 in this field.

This field appears only if you chose the Hourly selection in the Type of Wages field.

Pay Rate: Fixed Hourly Rate of

Enter the fixed hourly rate for this wage in this field if the wage is not a multiple of the regular hourly base rate.

This field appears only if you chose the Hourly selection in the Type of Wages field.

Optional Account/Override Account

If you want to track this wage with an account different from your linked Default Wages Expense Account, mark this selection; enter the account you wish to use in the Override Account field that appears when this selection is marked.

Non-Cash Wages/Exclude from Net Pay (Tips, etc.)

Mark this selection if this wage is considered taxable income that’s not included in employee paycheck. Examples of non-cash wages are tips and taxable fringe benefits such as the use of a company car; these items won’t appear in paychecks, but are subject to taxes anyway.

Select the type of non-cash wage that applies to the wage from the fields that appear when this selection is marked -- Reported Tips, Allocated Tips or Other.

Employee button

Click this icon to open the Linked Employees window - Wages, where you can select the employees to whom this wage is assigned.

Exempt button

Click this button to open the Wages Exemptions window, where you can list the taxes and deductions from which this wage is exempt.

New button

Click this button to create a new employee wage.

OK button

Click this button to accept the entries you’ve made and close the window.
